Weekly Photo Challenge: Near and Far

Weekly Photo Challenge: Near and Far

I chose this picture as this weeks photo challenge because I feel the beach is the perfect example of being near and far. Being on the shore and entering the water as it hits across the shore line gives us the feeling of being so near, in fact, apart of the ocean; but being that the ocean is so vast and expansive, we have no idea how far it goes from that small part we are in. Having the ocean water ripple threw my toes is such an easing and freeing feeling that I can hardly put into words. I absolutely love looking out into the endless water and seeing the sun being swallowed by it while the birds fly back and forth threw the sky.

Who I Nominate:

A Ring is Only a Ring

Remember that ring you gave me?

Remember the sparkle in my eyes?

It was a shimmer of hope.

A look into my future.

A promise that you’d always be in it.

But a promise is only a promise,

Until it is fulfilled.

You broke every promise you had ever made to me.

All my dreams diminished.

So tiny and far away.

Just like that little sparkle,

That shimmered in the ring.

The ring that you gave me.

So long ago.

Fifty Shades…..

The Fifty Shades Trilogy…. Imageoh my… what woman hasn’t had their fill of this book? I’m not much of a reader but after hearing so much about this book and the oh so infamous Christian Grey, I have definitely come to see what all the fuss is about. It is a page turning, mind hooking, toe curling, choice of words, phrases, scenarios, all jumbled up into one heart clenching story. In the end it leaves you feeling like these characters have become apart of your life and I’m sure some of you have made it a priority to turn your men into your own Christian Grey, leaving them in shock, not knowing if to comply happily or become worried. In the end of all the hype, Fifty Shades is definitely one to talk about, to keep your mind on, and to fantasize about while in a boring office meeting. Although it is author EL James’ first set of books, I am certain it won’t be her last. I am confident she will be back by a popular demand. Until then Christian Grey fans. 😉

The Flower of Death

The Flower of Death

The Plumeria, such a beautiful and simple flower. Who would have known throughout the world it is associated with ghosts and demons, death and funerals? I took this picture while walking to the car from our hotel room in Tampa. It instantly caught my eye. Little did I know upon doing research was its dark meaning and usage. Either way, the vibrant colors and aromatic scent that engulfs it certainly makes it anything but dark.

Tampa at Sunset

Tampa at Sunset

The best things in life are most certainly for free. This has got to be one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever experienced. Standing on the boardwalk at Clearwater Beach in Tampa, Florida, I was astonished at the beauty of this scene. It was a perfect summer evening, the water was calm and warm and the air, clean and crisp. Nature was surely at its best that night.
